We wave goodbye to 2018 and embrace the first ray of sunshine in 2019. At the moment of ringing out the old year and ringing in the new year, Party Leadership Group of CASIC extends the sincere greetings and the new year blessing to all CASIC employees and their families, the retired leaders and comrades, the customers and partners, at home and abroad, as well as all parts of society which care about, support and help with the development of CASIC and the aerospace industry of China.
In 2018, CASIC began to implement the gist of the 19th CPC National Congress. Guided by Xi Jinping’s thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era, CASIC comprehensively, systematically and routinely followed the overall leadership of the CPC at all levels to strengthen the party construction. It established the “four awareness”, persisted in “four confidences” and achieved the "two maintenance”. It also held on to the “two consistent”. CASIC has strengthened the work of strictly administering the Party in an all-round way to promote the high-quality development. The work of shaping a clean and honest Party style and insisting on anti-corruption have been carried out in a deepgoing way. The quality of Party building has been significantly improved, and excellent results have been achieved in the assessment of the responsibility system of Party building.
At the 40th anniversary of China’s reform and opening-up, in 2018, with the cordial care of the Party Central Committee, the State Council and the Central Military Commission, CASIC thoroughly practiced the instructions of the 19th CPC National Congress, undertook the “two centenary goals” and defined the “two targets and four steps” development strategy. Focusing on “serving the national strategy, the national defense construction and the national interest and people’s livelihood”, CASIC put its efforts in the tough battles of quality improvement, structural adjustment and development mode transformation. It also successfully accomplished the annual business plan and the operating performance target in relation to SASAC assessment, making a good opening for the new round of high quality development. With its strategic importance being consolidated and improved, CASIC is heading forward to become an internationally-recognized first-class aerospace defense corporation with firm steps. It is listed as a Grade A central enterprise for 11 years in a row. It is also ranked the 346th among the world’s top 500 enterprises in 2018, and the 398th among the world’s 500 most influential brands, the 20th among the world’s top 500 enterprises of Internet of Things, the 79th among China’s top 500 enterprises, the 26th among China’s top 500 manufacturing enterprises, the 45th of the China’s 500 most valuable brands and the 13th among the most influential innovative corporations in China.
In 2018, on the basis of the policy of “serving the national strategy”, CASIC practiced the strategies of innovation drive, military-civilian integration, talent-oriented enterprise development and quality-based accomplishment at a further and deeper level. It spared no effort to execute the “eight vital sections & one special project” and the “ten treasures of the country” project. It promoted the reform in state-owned enterprises and finished the “administrative level and legal person number reduction” task assigned by SASAC ahead of the schedule. It also accomplished the annual assignment of separation & handover, mixed reform & pilot, and crushing stubborn difficulties related to “three suppliers and one property”. It carried out resource integration and set up a new aerospace system engineering company, and also an aerospace medical and health technology limited company. It responded to and exerted all its strength to push forward the Northeastern revitalization and poverty alleviation. It moved decisively based on the “three innovations + ‘trust, support, integration and development’ concept”. In the past year, CASIC participated in multiple exhibitions at home and abroad, such as the first China International Import Expo, Zhuhai Airshow and Hannover Fair. It released its first national and international “official announcement”, which significantly improved the international influence and brand reputation of CASIC.
In 2018, adhering to “serving the national defense construction”, CASIC shouldered the primary responsibility of empowering the army and delivered high-quality results of defense equipment research and development. It pushed the digitized scientific research and production capacity to a new level and made breakthroughs in major national projects and specific-purposed programs. Its effort led the development of defense-related equipment industry to a new stage. Commercial aerospace projects of “five clouds and one train” were progressing smoothly. Kuaizhou solid-propellant carrier rocket accomplished another commercial launching. The first low-orbit broadband mobile communication satellite of China was sent to the space in Hongyun Project, and the technology testing was ongoing. The “Belt and Road” space information corridor construction and application cloud service platform were running in a stable pace. As to technological innovations, CASIC won 1 Special Prize and 1 Second Prize in the National Award for Science and Technology Progress, as well as 1 First Prize of the Scientific and Technological Progress Award in National Defense and 1 First Prize for Invention. One of CASIC teams was honored as the Team of Innovation in National Defense. CASIC also won the first Gold Prize of China Patent Awards.
In 2018, CASIC insisted on “serving the national interest and people’s livelihood and created the new pattern of in-depth development of military and civilian integration. The number of users of CASICloud exceeded 2.76 million and the price of the business settled through the platform exceeded CNY 310 billion. CMSS was officially released to the world and “INDICS+CMSS” won the gold prize on China International Industry Fair. CASIC prepared and issued the world’s first international standard of smart manufacturing service platform. The ecosystem of cloud manufacturing industrial cluster was established and operating in 9 cities of 7 regions in China. The independently developed self-service customer clearance gateway was successfully used in Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge Project. Three major and three small localized information technology products of aerospace industry were launched for the first time in the past year too. CASIC also promoted the construction and integration of various application systems on the intelligent enterprise operating platform. The cloud marketing business was boosted in an all-round manner.
The achievements made in 2018 fully rely on the diligence, courage and wisdom of nearly 150,000 leaders and employees. Therefore, CASIC Party Leadership Group extends lofty respect and heartfelt thanks to all of you, and also gives sincere greetings to the front-line workers who are still stuck in their jobs at this moment! Besides, we would like to express our gratitude to the people from all sectors of the society, who have supported and helped CASIC!
General Secretary Xi Jinping issued a great appeal to push forward the reform and opening-up in the new era at the convention celebrating the 40th anniversary of reform and opening-up. It was emphasized on the Central Economic Work Conference that we should stick to the supply-side structural reform as the main line and work hard on "consolidation, enhancement, promotion and smoothness". We should promote the high-quality development of manufacturing industry and unswervingly build a manufacturing power. At present, we are heading forward with the burden heavier than ever and facing the difficulties tougher than ever, just like a boat in the middle of the wave and a man half way to the mountain top. However, at this moment, we can either strive forward or step back, and we have to choose the former. To do this, we have more glorious goals to accomplish and more difficult work to do. Our achievements will be better celebrated for the severe challenges.
2019 is the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and the key year for building a well-off society in an all-round way. It is also the 20th anniversary of the founding of CASIC and the decisive year for pursing high-quality development and preliminarily establishing an international first-class aerospace defense company. We should adhere to the guiding ideology of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era as proposed by Xi Jinping, thoroughly implement the spirits of the 19th CPC National Congress, the Second and Third Plenary Sessions of the 19th Central Committee and the Central Economic Work Conference, earnestly practice the spirits of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech at the convention celebrating the 40th anniversary of reform and opening-up. We should also take high-quality development as the guide, adhere to the new development concept and the general keynote of stably progressing, implement the "three innovations" and insist on the "four characteristics of transformation". We will strengthen the work of strictly administering the Party in an all-round way, fulfill the primary responsibility of empowering the army, deepen the military and civilian integration and enhance the level of coordinated development and industrialization capacity to promote reform, transformation, restructuring and momentum. We will keep fighting the "three tough battles” and persist in the reform and opening-up, and strive to create a new situation of high-quality development. We will promote the construction of a world-class aerospace defense company and a world-class enterprise with global competitiveness to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of PRC and the 20th anniversary of the founding of CASIC with outstanding achievements, to strive unremittingly for the realization of the “two centenary goals” and the Chinese dream of the great rejuvenation of China, and to create a new and greater miracle in the new era that will make our people more proud and surprise the world!
