On May 20, CASIC and the Central Committee of the CYL signed an agreement for deepening strategic cooperation and the activity organized by the League and themed on “Entrepreneurship China: Youth Entrepreneurship” kicked off. CASIC will deepen its strategic cooperation with the CYL, and be the title sponsor of “Youth Entrepreneurship”, the China Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition to better promote and serve with its advantages youth innovation, entrepreneurship and creation across China and to take youth innovation, entrepreneurship and creation to the next level.
The activity was attended by Fu Zhenbang, Secretary of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the CYL and relevant leaders, Liu Shiquan, General Manager and Deputy Secretary of the Party Leading Group of CASIC, leaders of relevant departments of the headquarters, Secretaries of Party Committees and Secretaries of CYL Committees of secondary units, and representatives of youth party members.
The Party Leading Group of CASIC paid high attention to youth innovation, entrepreneurship and creation. Gao Hongwei, Secretary of the Party Leading Group and President of CASIC held party meetings and board meetings several times on strategic cooperation with the Central Committee of the CYL. With high expectations placed on youth innovation, he emphasized more than once that the youth in the aerospace field should take over the work left unfinished by the predecessors as if they were at war and generations of excellent builders of the space power and reliable successors of the space cause should be nurtured and trained in innovation, entrepreneurship and creation.
Before the activity, Liu Shiquan met with Fu Zhenbang and other visitors and expressed gratitude on behalf of the Party Leading Group of CASIC for the long-time support and encouragement of the Central Committee of the CYL. He said that it was of great significance for CASIC and the Central Committee of the CYL to deepen strategic cooperation and jointly promote youth innovation and entrepreneurship at the 100th anniversary of the May Fourth Movement. CASIC will further implement the instructions and requirements of General Secretary Xi Jinping for youth work and will establish platforms for the youth to make contributions in their real work.
Fu Zhenbang on behalf of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the CYL expressed appreciation to CASIC for its attention and support for youth work and the work of the CYL. As pointed out by him, CASIC was the first among central enterprises to make the youth development action plan and provide all-round support for youth innovation, entrepreneurship and creation within the Group, with rich experience and numerous achievements worth to be promoted. Organizations of the CYL of all levels carried out a variety of fruitful activities to serve the development of the Group and the growth of the youth, winning wide recognition.
Witnessed by Fu Zhenbang and Xu Qiang, representatives of CASIC and the Central Committee of the CYL officially signed the agreement for deepened strategic cooperation. CASIC will be title sponsor of “Youth Entrepreneurship”, the China Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition. On the Conference, Fu Zhenbang and Xu Qiang presented awards to representatives of advanced collectives and individuals respectively honored as “May Fourth Red-banner Youth League”, “May Fourth Red-banner Youth League Branch”, “Excellent Cadre of Communist Youth League” and “Excellent Member of Communist Youth League” as well as the representatives of the “First-batch Youth Innovation Demonstration Workshop”. Representatives from seven youth innovation workshops of the Second, Third and Sixth Research Institutes, CSSG, Hunan Aerospace and so on showed their innovation achievements.
Fu Zhenbang pointed out in his speech that youth formed the most active and most creative group in society and both the Party and the state were highly concerned about the youth and the youth work. As pointed out by General Secretary Xi Jinping on the ceremony to mark the centenary of the May Fourth Movement, the Chinese young people are always pioneers in realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. The Chinese young people in the new era should be the strivers, trailblazers and contributors who are brave to keep ahead of the times, serve the people with true skills and genuine knowledge and contribute to the country through innovation and creation. It is currently an important political mission of the whole League and all Chinese young people to learn, promote and implement the guiding principles from the speech of General Secretary Xi. As mentioned by Fu Zhenbang, CASIC, the backbone of the space cause of China, has manufactured a series of important equipment and machines over the past 60 years or so. Taking “strengthening the army by technological development and serving the country by aerospace development” as its duty, it is worthy of being called the spine of the Chinese nation. He pointed out that inspired by the space spirit, generations of young people engaged in space cause had always held high the flag of patriotism, carried on the spirit of arduous struggle, actively devoted themselves in innovation and creation and shouldered their responsibilities of the times, striving to be tide riders and pioneers of the times and making important contributions to the development of the space cause of China. Fu Zhenbang spoke highly of the youth innovation work carried out by CASIC and emphasized his awe for the space cause, his expectations for young people engaged in aerospace cause and his sincerity for cooperation in promoting youth entrepreneurship. He hoped that both parties, standing on the strategic height of nurturing young talents for the Party and state, could deepen cooperation centering on “youth entrepreneurship” to take youth innovation, entrepreneurship and creation of China to a higher level.
Xu Qiang on behalf of the Party Leading Group of CASIC thanked the Central Committee of CYL in his speech for their concern, trust and support. Regarding deepening of strategic cooperation and promotion of youth innovation, entrepreneurship and creation in the near future, he put forward four requirements: first, thoroughly act upon the new development philosophy of General Secretary Xi Jinping, especially the philosophy of innovation-driven development to fully upgrade the independent innovation ability; second, strive to be pacesetters in implementing the innovation-driven development strategy and guide through deepened strategic cooperation all large, medium-sized and small enterprises in carrying out technical innovation centering on major national projects; third, make all young people in the aerospace field the main force for innovation, entrepreneurship and creation; stimulate innovation vitality of the enterprise and increase drivers for innovation in the society; fourth, put into better play technical advantages in aerospace industry and transform the quantity and quality of intellectuals into advantages for development to accelerate establishment of innovation ecosystem.
Xu Qiang required that party committees and league organizations of all units should according to the unified arrangement of the Party Leading Group nurture and discover innovative young leading talents to showcase and enhance the strength and level of CASIC’s young talents in innovation, entrepreneurship and creation.
