Recently, CASIC released the 2018 Corporate Social Responsibility Report. This is the 11th social responsibility report since 2008. Based on the responsibilities and missions of CASIC given by the Party and the government, the report focuses on the trust and attention given to CASIC by all sectors of the society, presents the practice of fulfilling the eight social responsibilities in details, namely safeguarding national security, facilitating economic growth, promoting innovation-driven development, launching strategic cooperation, ensuring employee growth, keeping good faith and behaving in a law-abiding manner, protecting the low carbon environment, and contributing to public welfare, comprehensively summarizes the conditions of performance of the social responsibilities by CASIC in 2018 and profoundly explains the social responsibility values of "your security is our responsibility".
In 2018, CASIC followed the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, implemented the instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping on "promoting deepening of reform of state-owned enterprises, improving operation management level and remaining committed to making state-owned enterprises stronger, better and larger" and major strategic plans of the Party Central Committee, the State Council and the Central Military Commission, overcame difficulties and forged ahead. Meanwhile, CASIC concentrated on the strategic orientation of "serving national strategies, serving national defense construction and serving national welfare and people's livelihood", fulfilled the corporate mission of "thriving through science and technology and serving the country through aerospace industry development", devoted great energy to winning the "three tough battle" in respect of quality improvement, structural adjustment and transformation in development mode, and successfully accomplished the annual business plan, and the business performance objective set by SASAC of the State Council, achieving a successful start in a new round of high-quality development. CASIC was rated as a Class A state-owned enterprise for 11 years in a row, evaluated as an “excellent” enterprise according to the responsibility system for Party building, ranked 346th in the list of Fortune Global 500, 79th among the top 500 enterprises of China, and 42nd among the top 500 most valuable brands of China.
The report fully presents CASIC's actions and achievements in fulfilling its solemn commitment of "secure peace with aerospace technology" over the past year. This report collated, summarized and analyzed the implementation of CASIC's corporate social responsibilities in 2018. In addition, it also systematically compared and analyzed the social responsibility index system so that the integrity, balance, comparability and readability of the report were further enhanced on the whole. It aimed to thoroughly demonstrate the new trend of making steady progress of CASIC with the guidance of the development strategy in the new era through a full-dimensional perspective, systematic context, abundant examples and accurate data.
The report was composed of a number of special reports to systematically review CASIC's development achievements over the 40 years of reform and opening up, thoroughly present topics such as party building of CASIC, information security and targeted poverty alleviation, and comprehensively present the highlights and key work of implementation of CASIC's corporate social responsibilities over the past year.
2019 marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and is the key year to build a well-off society in an all-round way. It also marks the 20th anniversary of the founding of CASIC and is the decisive year for CASIC to implement high-quality development requirements and basically build itself to a world-leading aerospace defense corporation. CASIC will adhere to the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, thoroughly implement the guiding principles from the Party's 19th National Congress, the second and third plenary sessions of the 19th Party Central Committee and the Central Economic Working Conference, earnestly implement the guiding principles from General Secretary Xi Jinping's speech delivered at the conference celebrating the 40th anniversary of China's reform and opening up. Meanwhile, CASIC will also keep on reforming and opening up, strive to make new advances in high-quality development, strengthen comprehensive efforts aimed at building a world-leading aerospace defense corporation with global competitiveness, make persistent efforts to realize the country's two centenary goals and fulfill the Chinese dream of national rejuvenation, and create a new and greater miracle in the new era that will make Chinese more proud and attract more attention from the world!
