On September 18, the 2020 China Space Conference ("the Conference"), themed "carrying forward the aerospace spirit and embracing the sea of stars", was held in Fuzhou City, Fujian Province.
Relevant leaders attended the Conference, including Yu Weiguo, the Secretary of CPC Fujian Provincial Committee, Zhang Kejian, the Deputy Minister of Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China and the Director of China's National Space Administration, Wu Yansheng, the Secretary of the Leading Party Members' Group and Chairman of the Board of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC), and Liu Shiquan, the General Manager and Deputy Secretary of the Leading Party Members' Group of CASIC.
Other attendees included leaders of relevant state departments, Zheng Xincong, the Standing Committee Member and General Secretary of CPC Fujian Provincial Committee, Lin Baojin, the Standing Committee Member and General Secretary of CPC Fujian Provincial Committee and the Secretary of CPC Fuzhou Municipal Committee, Cui Yonghui, the Vice Governor of the People’s Government of Fujian Province, Chen Guoying, Zhang Jianheng, Yang Baohua and Li Hong, the Members of the Leading Party Members' Group and the Deputy General Managers of CASC.

Yu Weiguo, Zhang Kejian, Wu Yansheng and Liu Shiquan jointly started the opening ceremony. Christian Feichtinger, the Executive Director of the International Astronautical Federation (IAF), and Kai-Uwe Schrogl, the President of the International Institute of Space Law (IISL), brought sincere blessings to the conference through videos amid the pandemic.
The final winners of the three major awards of the 2019 China Space Foundation Awards were announced and accepted the awards. One of CASIC's staff won the "Qian Xuesen Award for Outstanding Contribution", while seventy of CASIC's staff won the "Space Contribution Award".
At the opening ceremony, a strategic cooperation agreement was reached between CASIC and the People’s Government of Fujian Province ("the government"). Chen Guoying signed the contract on behalf of CASIC. In order to further deepen the strategic cooperation between CASIC and the government, and give full play to CASIC's powerful strength and leading role in strategic high-tech industries, as well as Fujian's comprehensive advantages in areas such as location, industrial base and business environment, the parties will continue to deepen cooperation on the basis of the strategic cooperation framework agreement signed in 2012, so as to achieve mutually beneficial and win-win development.
According to the agreement, the parties will cooperate in the fields of NB-IoT applications, industrial Internet, information technology application innovation industry, smart industry, air and ground intelligent unmanned logistics industry, modular negative-pressure mobile cabin hospital, P2+ mobile detection station, and water environment control.
After the opening ceremony, Yu Weiguo had a discussion with Liu Shiquan. Chen Guoying, Zheng Xincong, Lin Baojin, and Lin Zhongle, the Vice Chairman of CPPCC Fujian Committee, the Deputy Secretary of CPC Fujian Provincial Committee and the Director of General Office of CPC Fujian Provincial Committee joined the discussion.
Liu Shiquan thanked the People's Government of Fujian Province for its long-term support and assistance in the CASIC's development, and introduced in detail the basic situation of CASIC and its industrial development in Fujian. He said that CASIC has always been committed itself to "serving the national strategy, national defense construction, national economy and the people's livelihood", and has unique advantages in aerospace defense, equipment manufacturing, information technology, modern services and other sectors, and hopes to be actively involved in economic development of Fujian Province. At present, CASIC is actively promoting the layout and expansion of information technology application innovation industry, industrial Internet and smart industry to widely serve the digital transformation, intelligent upgrade and technological transformation of enterprises in Fujian, and boost the transformation of quality, efficiency and power of enterprises in Fujian, so as to achieve high-quality development. It is hoped that more and more enterprises and industries of the CASIC will be settled in Fujian, so as to promote better integration and development of CASIC and Fujian Province during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period and further contribute to the high-quality economic and social development of Fujian Province.
Yu Weiguo welcomed Liu Shiquan and his team. He said that CASIC is an important national research and development unit, and the government attaches great importance to the cooperation with CASIC. People in Fujian are very pragmatic, and adhere to the spirit of "no pain, no gain". The government is willing to cooperate with CASIC with the utmost sincerity, so as to promote the economic and social development of Fujian Province, and better participate in realizing the space dream and developing national defense science and technology. In the process of realizing the Chinese dream, the dream of becoming a great power and the space dream in the new era, there are many cooperation needs and opportunities for both parties. It is hoped that CASIC will give full play to its advantages, put forward in-depth cooperation proposals in combination with the characteristics of Fujian Province, implement the strategic cooperation agreement, introduce more industries, and promote mutual development of the parties. In the future, the government will provide more convenience for the development of CASIC in Fujian and promote new progress in the cooperation between the parties.
Before the Conference, Yu Weiguo, Zhang Kejian, Wu Yansheng, Liu Shiquan and Chen Guoying visited the "Space Opening Up Chinese Dream" Space Science Popularization Exhibition & China's Space Achievements Exhibition.
China Space Conference, jointly sponsored by the Chinese Society of Astronautics and the China Space Foundation, is an influential and comprehensive industry event in China's space industry. The 2020 China Aerospace Conference is the third conference held after 2018 and 2019, at which cutting-edge space technologies were fully displayed and the future vision of space was discussed in depth to widely promote in-depth cooperation in the world's space industry.
According to reports, a high-end forum on the space spirit was held on September 19 during the Conference. Lin Qing, the Leader of the Discipline Inspection and Supervision Team and Member of the Leading Party Members' Group of CASIC, attended the forum and talked about the progress and achievements of research on CASIC's space spirit.
