On January 14, China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation Limited (CASIC) signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with CIIC Development (Beijing) CO., LTD. According to the agreement, the Parties will, on a "complementary advantages, market-led, mutual benefit and win-win" basis, give full play to their respective advantages, actively enhance international and domestic exchanges and project cooperation in the field of commercial spaceflight, explore collaborative innovation and development, market-oriented cooperation models and paths in new era, and achieve win-win cooperation between the two sides.
Yuan Jie, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and President of CASIC, Gong Bo, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy General Manager, Wang Tianyi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of CIIC, Wang Shaojiang, rotating president, and Han Guohua, Vice President and heads of relevant departments of both sides attended the signing ceremony.
In his speech, Yuan Jie made a general introduction of CASIC. He said that upon the formal establishment of strategic partnership between CASIC and CIIC, the two sides will focus on the field of space technology and great health industry, continuously enhance the influence of the 2020 International Symposium on the Peaceful Use of Space Technology Health (IP Space 2020), and play a more active role in promoting peaceful applications of space technology at home and abroad and building a bridge between international space technology and the Chinese market; CASIC will further embrace in-depth international exchange and cooperation in space technology, strengthen the research, development and open cooperation of a series of major medical and health equipment such as modular negative pressure shelter, biosafety testing laboratory, ECMO, and support the construction of national public health system with space technology. In the field of international space technology innovation cooperation, we will strengthen exchanges and visits with the International Academy of Astronautics and work together to make the "International Innovation Institute" an "international, world-class, market-oriented" technology-driven and innovative research platform.
Yuan Jie said that the cooperation between CASIC and CIIC will be fully integrated into China's regional coordinated development strategy. Taking the construction of Hainan Free Trade Port as an example, "modern seed industry, deep-sea technology, aerospace industry" will become the three "future industries" of Hainan Free Trade Port, CASIC has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Hainan Provincial People's Government to set up a platform for scientific and technological innovation and development in the aerospace field in Hainan Province to build a strategic highland for space science and technology innovation. CASIC and CIIC will jointly promote the effective connection between the "International Innovation Institute" and the aerospace science and technology innovation platform in Hainan, introduce domestic and foreign advantageous resources to accelerate the development and growth of aerospace industry in Hainan Free Trade Port, and open a new chapter of the development of China's aerospace industry.
Yuan Jie stated that CASIC will, under the leadership of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, thoroughly implement the spirits of the 19th CPC National Congress and the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th Plenary Sessions of the 19th CPC Central Committee and Central Economic Work Conference, and work together with CIIC to fully leverage the strategic cooperation to enhance mutual trust and mutual cooperation, so as to make greater contribution to the comprehensive building of a modern socialist country and achieving of the second Centenary Goal under the new development pattern with domestic circulation as the mainstay and domestic and international circulations reinforcing each other.
Wang Tianyi said in his speech that the signing of strategic cooperation framework agreement between CIIC and CASIC is of historic significance. Humanity's future is in space, and CASIC is the backbone in space exploration and the main force of China's space defense, who enjoys a high reputation in the international arena; international cooperation is an essential approach to explore the space, and CASIC has prominent advantages in space technology, and has made important contributions to the development of the International Astronautical Federation and the International Academy of Astronautics; The peaceful and universal application of space technology for the benefit of mankind is a historical trend. CASIC continues to promote space technology to serve the people's livelihood of the country and has made a series of achievements.
Wang Tianyi said that CIIC will subsequently strengthen strategic cooperation with CASIC from 3 aspects: firstly, to help CASIC strengthen communication and interaction with the International Space University and introduce more Chinese science and technology power to the international arena; secondly, to help CASIC integrate resources with the International Academy of Astronautics and establish "International Innovation Institute" in Beijing and Hainan to lay a solid foundation for space technology to serve mankind; third, to accelerate the progress of cooperation between the two sides to inject new impetus into the international development of spaceflight, space science and technology innovation and commercial space development, etc.
