In CASIC, the seed of aerospace innovation sown more than 60 years ago is breeding in an endless succession. In the new era, the youth are cultivating the fruits of youth innovation and entrepreneurship activities. All elements of innovation and entrepreneurship are brought together here: open platform, preferential policies, proven models, advanced concepts and more progressive youth.
Today, under the leadership and the promotion of the party committee of CASIC as well as the coordinated cooperation of various departments and layers of CASIC, there are more and more young talents in CASIC involved in "Mass Innovation and Entrepreneurship" activities with their passion and vigor. Just as the young "innovators" say: "This is not a task but a career."
Innovation is bursting from a little spark
"What our country needs most is original innovation and subversive innovation." Gao Hongwei, the Secretary of Party Committee of CASIC and the Chairman of CASIC always encourages the youth in CASIC. "CASIC is establishing an organization-wide 'Mass Innovation and Entrepreneurship' mechanism, and providing a series of tangible policy support. It is hoped that the youth who have 'entrepreneurship ideas' can bravely innovate and start a business to let young innovators' dreams to come true.”
Internal "Mass Innovation and Entrepreneurship" is the foundation. In CASIC, the innovative genes of generations of aerospace technicians have been entailed to the youth, and the concept of the development of compound young talents with “Mass Innovation and Entrepreneurship” mechanism has already taken shape.
The integration of traditional and modern innovation system has come to life. According to the new requirements of the new era, the Party Committee of CASIC has made great efforts to establish an innovation system of "organization and system innovation plus multi-dimensional mass innovation and entrepreneurship of all disciplines on specialized techniques." This system takes the system innovation that used to be undertaken by the "Two General Departments" as the core of itself, and the basic, forward-looking, original and disruptive technological innovation undertaken by the "Mass Innovation and Entrepreneurship" teams as the multi-dimensional supports, so as to integrate these two drives and forge a joint energy for the development of CASIC.
According to the data, by of the end of 2017, CASIC has hatched 433 internal youth innovation teams, solicited more than 2,000 "Mass Innovation and Entrepreneurship " projects, and sent many youth "Innovation and Entrepreneurship" projects into the creative pools, seed pools and product pools of CASIC. In addition, there are more and more CASIC youth innovation studios. At present, there are 163 group-level, 288 college-level and 442 factory-level youth innovation studios in CASIC, and more than 6,000 youth are participating in “Mass Innovation and Entrepreneurship” activities based on the studios, which effectively supports the development of youth “Mass Innovation and Entrepreneurship” of CASIC.
With "Mass Innovation and Entrepreneurship” initiative as the fertile soil, a number of youth "Innovation and Entrepreneurship" projects with subversive technological directions are also thriving. In the Third Department of the Third Academy of CASIC, the vacuum tube flight train project proposed by Mao Kai and Zhao Ming Youth Innovation Studio has been managed as a major commercial aviation project of CASIC, which has generated a large incentive effect among youth in the whole system. Besides, a number of projects such as the solar simulator youth innovation studio of the Second Academy and the laser youth innovation studio of the Fourth Academy are also progressing steadily.
In April 2017, Premier Li Keqiang went to the CASIC "Mass Innovation and Entrepreneurship" demonstration base in Beijing Yihe Navistar Park to visit aerospace youth innovators. "The 'Mass Innovation and Entrepreneurship' atmosphere here is very good, and you shall rush forward!" The Prime Minister loudly encouraged aerospace youth.
Today, one year later, with the strong promotion of the party committee of CASIC, aerospace youths keep the Prime Minister's words in mind and push aerospace "Mass Innovation and Entrepreneurship" to a new height. The No. 206 Research Institute of the Second Academy monopolized the scientific and technological achievements to the innovators, and the innovators can use the exclusive license as intangible assets to acquire shares in the "Mass Innovation and Entrepreneurship" company. The 206 Research Institute, the innovators, and Chengdu Aerospace Internet Fund jointly invested in the establishment of Nanjing Aerospace IoT Institute Co., Ltd.. The project achieved breakthroughs in many aspects for the first time: it was the first project of CASIC to achieve the transformation of scientific and technological achievements through the establishment of companies through product pools and is a typical example of opening the innovation chain of state-owned enterprises from innovation to entrepreneurship; It is the first "Mass Innovation and Entrepreneurship" project of CASIC holding by innovators with the support of organization and the fund; For the first time, the three-power separation of ownership, right to use, and income of state-owned enterprises' scientific and technological is achieved; It is the specific implementation of the policy that the state and CASIC issued "job-to-employment" entrepreneurial talents.

Platform as a dream stage

This is exactly the fact that the "Mass Innovation and Entrepreneurship" cause of CASIC is lighting the fire of hope among youth "innovators" in the new era across the country.
According to the statistics across different mobile application stores, it took a short time for an App named "CYouth” to reach more than 10,000 downloads after its release. This is a nationwide youth innovation and entrepreneurship cloud platform launched by CASIC and the Communist Youth League jointly in April 2017, when CASIC signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Communist Youth League to launch this nationwide youth innovation and entrepreneurship platform through CASICloud. Three months later, "CYouth" was officially launched. Today, the “Youth Innovation Cloud” platform has been improved into a number of modules such as Youth Innovation Park, Youth Innovation Board and Youth Innovation Class, linking with Youth Innovation Tutor and CASIC innovation, etc. Based on CASICloud, a combined online and offline channel for youth "Innovation and Entrepreneurship" has been substantially established.
With the traction of the platform, youth's passion for innovation and entrepreneurship continues to ferment. In the more than half a year since “CYouth” was launched, more than 50,000 youth innovation and entrepreneurship projects have been launched nationwide. The back-end data shows that the project applications for the Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition through the platform come from 31 provincial-level administrative regions of the country, and over 80% of the participating companies are start-up companies established after 2015. In accordance with the requirements of the "Five major and one special project" requirements of CASIC, more than 200 projects can be included in the scope of further industrial docking incubation. Apart from providing "online" support, CASIC has built a number of "Internet+ characteristic industries" innovation and entrepreneurship offline support platforms with regional characteristics under the overall arrangement of the Party Committee of CASIC.
Among them, eight "Mass Innovation and Entrepreneurship” service carriers, including Beijing Yihe Navistar Park, Nanjing Chenguang 1865 Creative Industry Park and Jiangxi Nanchang Technology Innovation Service Center have provided more support for the nation’s youth innovation and entrepreneurship offline incubation and greatly improved the survival rate of projects.
According to Fang Xiangming, a Deputy Secretary of Party Committee of CASIC and a vice President of CASIC, CASICloud is the result of implementing the national innovation-driven development strategy as well as a broad platform which can serve both CASIC itself and the national youth innovation and entrepreneurship activities. The core concept of this platform is: information exchange, resource sharing, capacity collaboration, open cooperation, mutual benefit, and win-win progress. It is also becoming a guideline for the "Mass Innovation and Entrepreneurship" of CASIC youth to become socialized, market-oriented and goal-oriented.
As a result of the youth "Innovation and Entrepreneurship” activities, CASIC served the needs of central task and mobilized the enthusiasm of grassroots party and government in supporting the activities of the group on the one hand; And on the other hand, CASIC served the needs of youth to grow into talents, and mobilized the cadres' organizations to promote youth’s active participation. The activity's enthusiasm has received relatively extensive response and support from the grassroots. Through the promotion of this work, league cadres at all levels have implemented the strategic requirements of the party group, served the center work, exercised and improved their business skills. Every innovation embodies the aspirations of aerospace youth. 80,000 young workers in the aerospace industry are walking on the journey of realizing the aerospace dream.
