On May 3, 2018, on the eve of the May Fourth Youth Day, the Working Committee of the Central Enterprises' Communist Youth League and the Central Enterprises Youth Federation held the award ceremony of the 3rd Central Enterprise Youth Innovation Awards of “CASIC Cup” in Beijing. Hao Peng, the Secretary of the Party Committee of SASAC attended and spoke at the ceremony. Liu Qiang, a Deputy Director and a Member of the Party Committee of SASAC hosted the ceremony. Gao Hongwei, the Secretary of Party Committee of CASIC and the Chairman of CASIC made a speech. Yao Huan, the Director General of Party Development Bureau, the Secretary of Working Committee of the Central Enterprises' Communist Youth League and the Chairman of Central Enterprises Youth Federation released the commend decision. Fang Xiangming, the Deputy Secretary of Party Committee of CASIC and a vice President of CASIC attended on the rostrum.
On behalf of the Party Committee of SASAC, Hao expressed warm congratulations to the successful organization of the event and the winning organizations and individuals, and extended sincere holiday greetings to the youth members of the central enterprises. Hao pointed out that it is of great significance and far-reaching impact for CASIC to hold this event. In the ten years since the launch of the Central Enterprise Youth Innovation Awards, it has effectively stimulated the innovation consciousness of youth and has achieved good economic, social and human benefits, making important contributions to the promotion of innovation and development of central enterprises. Practice has proved that the youth innovation and entrepreneurship in central enterprises is not only promising but also has great potential. It have become an outstanding brand for the reform and development of the service enterprises of the Youth League of the Central Enterprise and has been highly recognized by the leaders of the party.
Hao emphasized that as the main force of national science and technology innovation, the central enterprises must thoroughly implement the socialist ideology with Chinese characteristics and the Party's Nineteenth Congress spirit as the main force of national science and technology innovation, especially Xi Jinping’s scientific and technological innovation ideology, and holding on to the "leading point" of core technology independent innovation. We will focus on breaking through cutting-edge technologies and key core technologies and strive to play a leading role in implementing innovation-driven development strategies and building innovative countries. The hope of development lies on innovation, and the hope for innovation lies on the youth. There are more than 5 million young workers in the central enterprises who have tremendous enthusiasm for innovation and potential for creativity. They are the main force and commando team that enhance the ability of independent innovation and enhance the core competitiveness of enterprises. Youth innovation and entrepreneurship is of great significance in promoting the reform and development of central enterprises and fostering world-class enterprises with global competitiveness.
Hao requested that all central enterprises shall go on promoting youth innovation and entrepreneurship activities, and must focus on the center and service as the main line of work to create a number of outstanding achievements, cultivate a group of leading talents and build a number of platforms to form a mechanisms and promote a number of typical experiences. The Working Committee of the Central Enterprises' Communist Youth League and the organizations at all levels shall serve as the bridge for the youth and provide a platform for youth innovation and entrepreneurship. The Party Committees (party groups) of the central enterprises shall further increase their leadership and support for youth innovation and entrepreneurship activities. They shall adhere to the party building to lead the league building and vigorously support the organizations at all levels to take the initiative and action and promote the innovation and entrepreneurship work of the central enterprises to grant better talent, experience and continuously achieve new greater results.
Liu Qiang further asked all central enterprises to provide more support to youth innovation and entrepreneurship activities in the central enterprises in conjunction with practical measures for concrete research and implementation to continuously improve the long-term mechanism for youth innovation and entrepreneurship. It is necessary to increase the promotion of youth innovation and entrepreneurship, actively commend the outstanding achievements of the winning teams and vigorously publicize the experiences and practices of the innovation teams. It is important to tell the story of the young enterprise's innovation and entrepreneurship.
Gao Hongwei, the Secretary of Party Committee of CASIC, said in his speech that youth are synonymous with vigorous, high-spirited, and vigorous development. Innovation is synonymous with absorption, sublation, subversion, and learning and transcendence. CASIC is honored to have the opportunity to name the “Central Enterprise Youth Innovation Awards” and will continue to study and understand Xi’s important ideas on innovation, follow the teachings of General Secretary Xi and learn from the requirements of party committees and officers of SASAC. At the ceremony, a video clip of the 3rd Central Enterprise Youth Innovation Awards of "CASIC Cup" was presented. Yao Huan, the Director General of Party Development Bureau, the Secretary of Working Committee of the Central Enterprises' Communist Youth League and the Chairman of Central Enterprises Youth Federation released the commend decision. The winning projects and outstanding organization awards representatives are issued honorary certificates by the officers attending the ceremony. Four representatives of the awarded youth innovation teams from the Second Department of the Second Academy of CASIC, State Grid, CGN, China Railway who won the gold medal project made presentations.
There are more 260 attendants of the ceremony, including responsible officers of the relevant bureaus of the SASAC, officers of the party committees (party groups) of the central enterprises, officers of the League Committee, and members of the Youth League, as well as the representatives from the organizations winning gold, silver, bronze prize-winning projects and excellent organization awards.
The 3rd Central Enterprise Youth Innovation Awards of "CASIC Cup" was sponsored by the Working Committee of the Central Enterprises' Communist Youth League and the Central Enterprises Youth Federation and supported by the title of CASIC. The event was launched in December 2016 with 68 central enterprises participated. The entire selection process was completed online with "CASICloud", which effectively expanded the coverage and participation of the event. There were 4209 applications in the event, and the direct economic benefits were nearly 20 billion yuan, creating a production value of hundreds of billions of yuan. Finally, 221 projects were honored, including 10 gold award projects, 20 silver award projects, 30 bronze award projects and 161 outstanding award projects. There were 21 central enterprise league committees awarded the outstanding organization awards. Among them, CASIC has won the most gold, silver, bronze and outstanding awards among all the central enterprises and the Youth League Committee of CASIC has won the outstanding organization award.
